Car Play Mat

We are having a joint babies 1st birthday party for the babies from our antenatal group, it’s so lovely seeing them all growing up together, and we decided to do a “secret santa” style birthday pressies for them all. We had done it at Christmas and it worked really well and was lovely seeing them all opening their wee parcels together :)

Emmie and I got her wee friend Oliver to get a gift for and rather than buy him something I thought we would make him a wee road playmat so he could play with all his cars on it for years to come.
I made a similar play mat with a town theme a couple of years ago for my cousin’s wee boy and he absolutely loved his so I’m hoping that Oliver will have many years of fun playing with his one.

I did consider just doing the same mat again but I found lovely blue chevron fabric in our local fabric shop so instead decided to go for an emergency services theme. It definitely had to have a fire station, hospital and police station and I thought we could squeeze a wee helicopter pad in there too.

I love having a new project to get my teeth into and when it’s for a very special little boy it makes it all the more fun.

Here’s a pic of the finished playmat kindly sent to me by Oliver’s mummy with all his wee cars ready for playing on it, I think it turned out great and most importantly Oliver and his mummy loved it :)

Fabric Shopping :)

Today we packed Emmie and Noah in the car and headed off towards Crieff to visit Claire at Barony Fabrics, I found her lovely wee shop by accident when searching for more of the fabric we use to make our owl bibs and oh how glad we are that I did :)

Claire was so helpful and lovely and her wee studio, in the most gorgeous countryside, is delightful. We will definitely be back for another visit soon. Here is the fabric we picked up in this visit.

If you fancy anything made up in any of these fabrics please just send us a message and we will see what we can do. We will have new items on the website using them just as soon as we have the time in between orders to do some new designs. Emmie is definitely getting a bike bandana bib to wear when she's watching mummy mountain biking :)

    Baby Doodahs family :)

We are Morvern and Lorna, 31 year old twin sisters and mummies to Emmie, Noah (both 3), Noah's little sister Gorgie (1) and the latest addition to the gang, Emmie's wee sister Maisie :)

We started Baby Doodahs so we can work from home with our little monsters. The mummies do the sewing and the babies help by modeling and testing our products and hinder by crying, grabbing our material, and generally doing baby things.

Here on our blog you can keep up to date with all our latest projects and we will post new fabrics we have been buying and ideas we have for upcoming projects, if anything catches your eye, give us a shout were always happy to do custom orders or design something especially for your wee one.
